If you want to know where Representative Greg Lewis stands on the significant issues facing Kansas, such as adequately funding state services, then you only have to visit his website, https://www.lewisforkansas.com. If you call him, he may very well call you back within a day or two, like he returned my call recently when I left a message for him regarding the special legislative session. If you want to learn where Greg's opponent stands on the...

26 Oct 2015 at 3:08pm
Representative Greg Lewis, a Republican representing the 113th House District, filed for re-election to the Kansas House last week. He was elected by Republican precinct committeemen and women in March to complete the term of Rep. Basil Dannebohm (R-Ellinwood) who resigned the seat. "This election will determine the future of our district and our state. We need a voice of reason in Topeka fighting for our district - not for special interests t...

One good legislator
17 Jun 2015 at 6:40pm
The 2015 legislative session has (thankfully) ended. Now we simply have to live with the consequences until the budget shortfall will likely be addressed again in the next budget session. However, all is not doom and gloom coming out of Topeka these days. Fortunately, we have a legislator in the 113th district who seems to be a voice for reason amidst all of the grandstanding and political maneuvering that went on at the end of the recent leg...

State of dysfunction
12 Jun 2015 at 6:43pm
Kansas legislators got across the finish line but not exactly like American Pharoah. More like a worn-out mule. They got a tax increase bill passed two hours before dawn Friday on the record-setting 113th day of their session, much to the relief of many who feared deep cuts otherwise to schools, prisons and social services. Said Rep. Greg Lewis, R-St. John: "Kansans who wanted real revenue reform lost today. Big corporate special interests won...

No real solutions in state's second longest legislative session
4 Jun 2015 at 3:20pm
Politicians always tell us "Topeka is a mess" or "Washington is a mess." Well, I’m not sure that I ever truly understood until now. Things are an absolute mess in the Statehouse. We are now 12 days past the date the legislative session should have been done - making the 2015 session the second longest in history. And I see no end in sight - just a lot of political games being played. And to top it all off, the governor is telling us that state...

Education funding a major concern expressed to Kansas legislators
9 Apr 2015 at 3:13pm
School funding was a main topic at the Blue Moon Coffee House Wednesday morning as Sen. Mitch Holmes and Rep. Greg Lewis held a town hall meeting to discuss issues in Topeka. Lewis said in his short time in Topeka, he has seen enough to know that things have to change. Legislators seem to have their backs against the wall and are not going to change their minds. "They are digging a hole and I wish they would stop digging," Lewis said. He has n...
